Rosacea is a chronic and progressive condition that causes inflammation, redness, broken capillaries and sometimes breakouts in the face and even the eyes.With advancements in clinical therapies such as LED Phototherapy and IPL it is possible to put these troublesome symptoms into remission and prevent the progression to more severe stages. For the best results it is very important to be aware of factors that trigger your rosacea symptoms both during your course of treatments and thereafter. Triggers for Rosacea

  • Inflammatory foods (see below)

  • Cheese (except cottage cheese)

  • Yeast extract (bread is OK)
  • Vinegar
  • Eggplant
  • Avocados
  • Spinach
  • Broad-leaf beans and pods,
including lima, navy or pea
  • Citrus fruits, tomatoes, bananas,
red plums, raisins or figs
  • Spicy and thermally hot foods
  • Foods high in histamine

Anti-Inflammatory Foods and Supplements for Rosacea Support

  • High quality protein such as fish, shellfish, poultry, and tofu
  • Low- glycemic carbs including fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, legumes such as beans and lentils
  • Six to eight glasses of water per day
  • Anti-oxidant rich green tea
  • Salmon is particularly beneficial as well as Omega 3 Supplements
  • Brewer’s Yeast
  • Turmeric

Skincare for Rosacea Management

The products that your skin is exposed to on a daily basis directly effect the severity of your rosacea symptoms, and likewise are integral to the healing process. Ingredients found in most skincare products, even those that claim to be for sensitive skin, often exacerbate rosacea symptoms. Each individual is unique and symptoms and triggers of rosacea can vary. The earlier rosacea is treated the easier it is to manage and often symptoms can be eliminated completely with consistent care.
